  • Played around with stuffing my Next Level Chocolate Chip Cookies with some Dulce de Leche. They tasted pretty awesome too but I still need to do a bit of tweaking because it was slightly on the sweet side. I’m going to try making them again with a bit less sugar in the cookie batter. I think I’ll also try bittersweet chocolate chips instead of admit-sweet and put a bit more salt on top. These cookies have a lot of promise! The crispy exterior and soft interior make for a great texture!

  • Definitely more muted colours after baking. I pretty much lost all the green so I added some fresh herbs on top. Overall it still looked pretty nice though and it tasted great which is the most important part 😊

  • Just for fun, I thought I’d try out some focaccia art today. It was a bit tricky because it he dough is so squishy that elements would sink into it and weren’t as straight as I wanted them to be but it looks pretty and colourful pre-baking 🌈 You can only se one of them in this shot but I made cute little bees out of green and black olives. Interested to see how it looks once it’s baked since the colours will get muted in the baking process.

  • I’m so pleased with how this experiment turned out! Not only did this cake look like a peanut butter cup, but it was also really tasty! The outside of the cake is ganache that I shaped by spreading it on accordion folded card stock and sticking to the side of the cake. The inside is a peanut butter cake with peanut butter frosting and a chocolate praline peanut crunch layer. I like the crunlayer in mousse cakes but next time would skip it for this cake and just do the frosting . I was worried about how the cake would turn out because I’ve never made a peanut cake before but it was really good and nice and moist! The origami technique does make quite thick ganache sides, so thin slices were necessary but so tasty! It really tasted like a peanut butter cup!

  • I’ve been watching some videos by @andrieli.olekszechen about Origami cakes and it gave me the inspiration to try to make a novelty cake using this technique. Can you guess what I’m trying to make the cake look like?
