This year all of our vacation plans were cancelled because of the pandemic. So instead of a vacation, we are having a reno-cation!
We moved into our house 2 1/2 years ago, and many rooms needed updating. First on the list was the basement, which I turned into my teaching studio for my voice and piano lessons. We’ve also painted quite a few of the rooms, but this summer has been the biggest renovation to date!
In July we started by replacing the floor and painting our family room. With two dogs, I felt that the carpet was picking up dirt, so we replaced it with vinyl plank flooring and an area rug.
That quickly moved to replacing all of our green ceramic tile with the same flooring. Then with the new flooring in, I really felt that the kitchen cabinets needed updating….
So, I painted the kitchen yellow and we had the cabinets refaced in grey and white. We had the counter top replaced with a quartz one and today, my husband and I painted our kitchen table.
This weekend, we’ll be adding in some under cabinet lighting and when I find the right tiles, we’ll be adding new back splash.
I can’t wait for it to be done!
